Jacob Vito preaches on Luke

Jacob Vito, a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and a junior at UC Davis, did an amazing job on Sunday, Sept. 25, giving a sermon reflecting on the story from Luke about a rich man and a poor man, Lazarus. Both died and the rich man ended up in Hades. He pleaded with Abraham to send Lazarus, who was in heaven, “to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames.” Jacob, who is 20, has spent several years attending St. Luke’s, even though it is a drive of some 75 minutes each way from his home in Davis. His parents, Mark and Melissa, were members of St. Helena’s Grace Episcopal Church before they moved to Pennsylvania several years ago.
